Japchae at Arario Midtown — kyu's Review (Jul 4, 2024)

I was very happy with the delicious and generously portioned #korean #fusion food at Arario in Midtown Reno. For walk-ups, there was a bit of a wait to be seated, but I think that speaks to the popularity of this restaurant! The restaurant is located upstairs from a bar, tattoo shop, and fitness studio.

The menu labeling isn’t super consistent, but our wonderful server, Christine, made an effort to point out which banchan were vegan (black beans and pickled cucumbers are safe; avoid kimchi and macaroni salad.) The #japchae was great — it was a big serving of well-seasoned #noodles with lots of #vegetables (sautéed onions, carrots, bell peppers, and mushrooms atop a bed of tender kale!) I opted to add vegan #fakemeat for $5, and they were very generous with that, too. I think it was seasoned, crumbled #beyondmeat patty (but it could possibly have been Impossible; I always get them mixed up…) It was $19 after adding vegan meat. Overall, a really tasty, harmonious, and filling dish; I would definitely recommend it!
