These frozen maki are definitely a convenient snack or part of a meal. I purchased this pack on a buy one get one promotion quite a bit ago and finally had an occasion to try this one!
I had tried the thaw method for one of these brand’s onigiri varieties before and the results were not good so I’ve stuck to the water thaw method for the maki and it has worked great!
These definitely taste as good as or better than one would expect from a frozen sushi product. The texture is pretty good and they taste good paired with the sauce or a vegan spicy Mayo.
I really enjoy making vegan maki and find these quite expensive at normal price. Yes, they are a tasty and convenient product, but the price is high so such little food. I might pick these up again if they were on a good sale, as they’re nice to have in the freezer for a quick and special snack.
