A #semla is a traditional #Swedish 🇸🇪 #pastry The treat consists of a #cardamom-spiced wheat bun, which is sliced horizontally and filled with a creamy #marzipan. The bun is then generously topped with #whippedcream and finished with a dusting of powdered sugar. #sweettooth

The texture of the semla is soft and fluffy, thanks to the light and airy bun, while the marzipan adds a sweet and nutty flavor that pairs beautifully with the aromatic cardamom.

Originally, semlor were eaten plain or soaked in warm milk, but over time, the addition of marzipan and whipped cream became the modern standard. I’m not mad at it
