Plant-based Ground by Beyond Meat — kyu's Review (Feb 13, 2024)

Sadly my hometown team lost the Super Bowl yesterday… but on the bright side, the chili was probably the best I’ve eaten in my life. (Chili is not photogenic, but I’ve included a photo anyway.) I found this #fakemeat #vegangroundbeef at an incredible discount over the summer (just $1.99!,) and it’s been sitting in my freezer ever since, patiently awaiting its time to shine. #groceryoutletfinds It thawed with surprisingly speed, and it was really easy to incorporate into an omni recipe. I think it’s ideal for use in saucy or stew-like dishes, such as chili or bolognese sauce; the other ingredients help to disguise any #beyondmeat aftertaste. The texture is almost too convincing, and the #protein content is excellent, too!

To me, it was indistinguishable from meat, and even my omni mom couldn’t tell the difference (and she’s very opinionated — she’ll absolutely inform me when she dislikes my food or finds it weird!) I plan on using this ground in all my future batches of chili, especially when I want to share my cooking with those who aren’t yet vegan.
