Mao Cai is a traditional hot pot dish from the Sichuan province in China 🇨🇳 People here are fearless when it comes to the mouth numbing Sichuan peppercorn, a truly unique feeling, that doesn’t hit your tongue like a hot chili pepper does but instead heats and numbs your soul. And the fact that it’s basically hot oil with veggies also helps!
The best part of this dish is that you choose what you want in it and then they add all the toppings like parsley, peanuts, sesame seeds and green onion. We got sliced potatoes, lotus root, tofu, and mushrooms. It was amazing!
If you’re visiting #singapore this is hands down one of the best things you can try!
