Review of Gluten Free Ancient Grains - Van’s Foods by kyu

These toaster #waffles are packed with healthy ancient grains! They aren’t my favorite, as I find them a bit dry; however, as someone who consumes #glutenfree products incidentally rather than intentionally, I’ll admit to not being fully adjusted.

They’re thin and became quite crunchy in my toaster oven (as suggested on the packaging, I did one toast cycle, flipped, and toasted again.) They have a rustic texture thanks to the whole grains and seeds, and they give off a faint cinnamon aroma while heating. On their own, the waffles are a bit dry and flavorless, but obviously with the addition of toppings, syrup, etc., it’s barely noticeable. I really liked that these are very unsweet, since I typically have lots of fruit with my #breakfast (here: with homemade almond butter, cinnamon, bananas, strawberries, and apricots!) Surprisingly, a touch of salt makes these waffles taste so much better, so I definitely recommend the nut butter — or you could use them in place of sandwich bread, or even assemble vegan chicken and waffles using breaded mushrooms/your favorite plant-based tenders! So many possibilities.

#groceryoutletfinds yet again, $1.99 for a box of 6. They’re a snap to reheat for a quick work snack and nice to have on hand on mornings when I don’t feel like breaking out the waffle iron. Really not bad — I’d get them again!
