I wanted to like this dish as it's very healthy but it lacked flavour. I was having highexpectations when I saw them advertising this new dish. I'm generally a low sodium person but this was way bland. They provided sea salt and pepper on each table because they had received feedback from customers that their food could be bland. However, to me, it is not about being salty that makes a dish flavourful. This dish could have more umami flavour by using stronger mushroom or kelp dashi. And black vinegar and sesame oil can sometimes save the dish. The toppings/garnishes of chinese yam/huai shan and nori shreds were a nice touch, but they didn't enhance the taste any much.

Oh dear 🙈 The Western pastas leaned towards being bland too so I can imagine what you mean. I think I recall the Asian rice sets having more flavour!
