ALL THE FLAWS OF THE FOOD INDUSTRY
It is in busy moments when the energy outside is heavy and chaotic, and yours is draining, that we tend to step inside a store and “grab a snack”, thinking it will give us a shot of energy.
🍫🍫🍫🍫So I did during this weekend’s Brussels’ Pride, which was sunny 🌞 and joyful 🌈 and very, very crowded and all about “Protect the Protest”.
For the sake of Abillion I bought one of those teeny weeny Rhythm 108 vegan candy bars. 📷Made a picture even if I could barely see on the screen of my old phone if I’d got it right, due to the abundant and so awaited sunlight.
Taste/bite: Very sweet, you must love it! It’s the typical overly sweet Swiss style chocolate. I personnally prefer the Belgian style, dark and more bitter chocolate taste. The filling is a bit fatty. Although the hazeInut flavour is defined and prominent, I would not buy this again for the sake of its general flavour and impression.👎👎👎
Ingredients: Organic. It says it contains oat and also quinoa … the latter for less than 1 % … Seriously? Then why mention the presence of an otherwise healthy pseudo-cereal if it’s little more than a trace? I feel I’m being fooled here as a consumer. Blablabla marketing but a very expensive candy bar with in reality poor nutritional value. Plusses: No added salt. No refined sugar. No palm oil. 
Shape/Conditioning: Luxury multicolour plastic single sheet wrapper for a very small 33 g bar.
Price: I paid 1,60 € May 2023), for a total weight of 33 g. Very expensive. Not worth the money. 👎👎👎
The brand is Swiss. Their artwork, marketing, use of colour, it all breathes the Swiss’ love of perfection and thorougness. It also breathes all the flaws of a food industry that puts only effort in what it looks like and how it tastes, and no effort at all in how healthy or how sustainable the item is. I pardon myself for this purchase in a moment of weakness and am grateful if these words yield some eurocents to donate to a Sanctuary.
