Apache Burger, in Toronto’s west end, is a pretty popular and busy burger joint. It was particularly popular with one of Toronto’s former mayors, Rob Ford. There is always a flow of customers coming in (even today, on a Sunday morning!), so expect to wait a bit for your order. The staff is quite friendly and talkative. The decor is a little outdated, but that’s part of the charm.

The only vegan burger on the menu is a Veggie Burger. Today I decided to have onion rings accompany it on the side.

The owner confirmed for me that the batter does not contain any dairy and eggs. According to her, “I know that for a fact. We make it ourselves.” That’s good enough for me.

Like their burgers, the onion rings were perfect. They were crispy, and the batter gave the onion rings a thick coating. 

I don’t go to Apache Burger often, but I will return.
