VEGAN

Valsoia

🇬🇧 As soon as I saw it I grabbed it to make a comparison with Alpro's Shhh.
I was hoping this was better, or almost equal to start buying this one to support an Italian company, but unfortunately between the two - in terms of taste - Alpro is a win-win: on the other hand, this one comes up perfectly frothy and the foam stays quite held.
The difference between the two at full price is 30 cents, it's not a bad product so don't rule it out from buying it again in case of a discount.

animaladvocat Are you aware that alpro is Danone who dehorn calves and didn’t care at all they told peta they will stop this torture, 5 years later they still dehorn babies Reply
gingersaint This isn’t from Alpro, Valsoia is an italian dairy free brand (about 90% vegan)Reply
animaladvocat You write you compared it with Alpro and you think the taste of alpro is better, I am telling you it belongs to Danone who torture calves I thought you would like to know what you support Reply
gingersaint That practice is despicable and I looked for some more info but I found nothing but a short column from PETA’s talking about US and Canada, so if you have some more detailed references feel free to share.
My personal view is buying from a subsidiary is one of the ways you can show the parental the market it has expanded in works and investing more (in vegan stuff in this case) could be a good deal: if Alpro grows, it means more money for Danone and means more money to invest in Alpro to make even more money, works this way.
If everyone suddenly stops buying Alpro, Alpro will close down, Danone won’t because they have broad shoulders (for now) and since they are a business wouldn’t keep something unprofitable so in the end no more vegan products but still dairy products: not very far-sighted of you think twice because our goal is showing once for all vegan food and beverage are the right products to buy 1 likeReply
animaladvocat It’s of course your choice to finance some evil company like Danone who buy the market away from small real vegan companies & exploit torture and kill animals. Vegans don’t support animalcruelty no matter where the animals suffer on this planet. My fault I apologize I thought we are all vegans here. Reply
gingersaint It’s not just cookie-cutter, and I find a bit pretentious judging people behind a display without knowing absolutely nothing about them, their lifestyle and their effort.
By your reasoning, no one should even go grocery in a place that also sells meat, dairy and eggs, or have a meal in a restaurant that also serves non-vegan dishes, or buying anything from online shops that sell for example non tested products but also tested products. Reply
animaladvocat You support the suffering of animals, how you don’t care about babies being tortured is enough to know about you I do not know what makes you so coldhearted, maybe you’re feeling guilt which could actually help you become a better you. Try to start with love respect and empathy. If you want to become a vegan, be kind. Your way of talking to me is condescending and completely inappropriate, which raises the question of who judges whom she does not know right in the first answer. I'm sorry that you believe a company like Danone will keep a brand „alive“. Danone doesn't care what they produce or what company they bought will die, as long as it brings money, they use & bought alpro because they know many wouldn’t buy vegan from Danone, alpro knew this so why would I care ? Real vegan companies lose the opportunity to grow due to unreflected shopping behaviour. If you want to become a vegan, be kind. And please stop supporting animals being hurt, we are brothers & sisters and care. We are hurt when, while we work on saving anipals for decades , people like you don’t care because the torture happens in USA and Canada. Good Luck and Goodbye Reply
