This presentation was so lazy and very messy. Especially at $17. I like lettuce but I’m not that crazy about it. I’ve a habit of thinking about the cost of ingredients to the dish’s price tag and obviously this is not worth it. Luckily the bamboo shoot and turnip came through with flavour. But clearly my grandma can cook this better, heck I can cook it better. Very different from when I had their vegan dishes awhile back - bring back the buah keluak fried rice!!!!

The Peranakan (now closed except for online kuih orders 🥹) had vegan kueh pie tie 🙃 if anyone knows where to get the beautiful crispy savoury tart shell kuih hmu thank you
