As impressed as I was by #beyondmeat on their sausages, this #beyondburger was a bit of a miss for me 😶 I was excited for this one too; had to make the buns myself because it was honestly easier than trying to find good vegan buns 🍞 #vegansdoitbetter
Ultimately, the texture was really great. It seems that their beyond strength lies with the texture. However, as good as the texture was, the seasoning was pretty subpar for me. It just doesn’t seem like they used enough or any herbs. Something about the flavours felt so lacking. First, I went with a homey rendition of Burger King’s Mushroom Swiss with a side of my favourite accompanying chilli chips 👉 It’s a good thing my first crack at making my own vegan cheese was successful enough to bring it together. The time after that, I only needed to use half of my second patty for a burrito with tempeh and some corn. This was in part because I already had too much on my plate, literally… With the spiral potatoes and salad, my meal felt complete 🌈 The second half of the second patty, finally, went into my fusion-y Dan Dan Mien. As you can see by the end, I’m just progressively breaking down and burying the burger’s original flavour and state of being 😅 I highly recommend this economic work around from using their pricier alternative Beyond Mince.
Though the outside cardboard part of the packaging was recyclable, everything else was unrecyclable plastic 😓 So close…
RM 40 for 2 patties seemed steep at first but considering what can be done with it, it’s still #worthit 👍 Just more as a starter protein to work with instead of a ready made #burger patty 🤓
I’d recommend you give it a try 👌The rest is up to you…

you made that bun? impressive! Beyond burgers always leave a funny aftertaste. That plus the overpackaging. I know sometimes packaging can't be avoided. Still very impressed by the buns! and making vegan cheese! what kind of cheese?
