Review of Impossible murtabuger at Rm Springleaf Prata Place by vishakha

It looks so innocuous in the photo but it’s really overly indulgent and I wouldn’t try this again. The filling is impossible meat, vegan cheese, and maybe sweet Thai chilli sauce? The meat is good on its own, the cheese is nice and all melty and stretchy, and the prata is really perfectly crispy, but the sauce is too sweet and overall the whole thing ends up feeling too heavy as a dish. If it had a fresh tomato sauce instead, it could be really good as a sort of prata calzone (although still very indulgent and heavy), but the sauce kills it.

It’s served with sambar, which I didn’t understand but it was fine. Standard prata joint sambar.

It’s $10.50, which is pretty cheap for a dish using impossible meat, so I give it points for value on that front.

vishakha I feel guilty being so negative about this! If you like Thai sweet chilli, I think this would be good hangover food, and if you don’t like it, I think it would be fine without any sauces as well (and then probably work dipped in dal). I don’t think mine came with mayo, so not sure about thatReply
