Review of Vegan Cheeseburger at Jonkershuis Restaurant South Africa by capetownvegan

A quick review of the Beyond Meat Burger from Jonkershuis in Constantia.
I remember when Jonkershuis only had ONE vegan option on their menu, a delicious veg & chickpea curry. They now have vegan options aplenty, including starters, a salad, a pasta option, the Beyond Burger and an apple crumble for dessert.
I’m going to cut straight to the chase: it was DELICIOUS. You can’t go wrong with a Beyond. The “fat fries” were superb too. But, at R178, it is the most expensive Beyond Burger in Cape Town. Not great when you can (with chips) in town for R99. However, we used an Entertainer voucher, so (with tip) they were R98 each: far fairer. The burger buns, while tasty, were also clearly cheap store-bought ones.
The MOST IMPORTANT POINT though is that there is an option, which is GREAT, and it’s a good one at that. Would I recommend it? If you can get a 2-for-1, absolutely.
