I have a thing for asymmetry. My mixed nail polish colours are a symbolism of that, and that even in ugly experiences good things can result from it. For example, this was all I had for dinner a few nights ago after a failed food-#veganize attempt. Thankfully because of that I was able to get properly sloshed for once 🍻 I did my usual #asktoveganize routine at a cafe where I’d look for the token vegetarian item and ask that they #droptheegg 😴 After much delay, my food arrived.. with anchovies and pieces of chicken. This was at a popular and pretty packed kopitiam so the tauke/boss refused to back down and said it makes no sense to expect that the vegetarian dish I ordered would not contain meat in a non-vegetarian restaurant 🤷♂️ No refund, no sorry, no #tryharder 💀 He did explain that the contamination was likely because they don’t wash the wok between meals 🙃 “but we don’t use pork oil so don’t need worry” - like no shit sir I hope you’re genuine about that Halal sign too. Quite the experience compared to every other dish I’ve #veganized in Kuching - mostly at places I’ve frequented over the years and most importantly aren’t too stuck up to own their mistakes. Anyhow, great cashews. Got hammered. What’s not to love? ps. #veganisnotscary still because you’re gonna have to try harder to break me 🖕

It reminds me of the time we ordered vegan burritos with Beyond Meat and they came with loads of real pig bacon on them. We didnt realize til we got home. No dinner for us that night 😅 The manager was so horrible-- was not apologetic or offer any refund and was so rude!! @anistavrou ended up filing a complaint and got the manager fired (oops!). I wish more restaurants understood how important it is because these are ethical reasons for us, but also some people have serious food allergies. I'm sorry this happened to you but I'm glad you made the most of it. Great story!
so, they use the same wok all day and never clean it?
