Organic Original Young Jackfruit

I had a can of Young Jackfruit in the pantry and tried out Vikas Garg’s
Vegan Pulled “Pork” recipe. It turned out great! (Thanks @vikas and @abillion10!) I didn’t have the ingredients for his Avocado Slaw (so I subbed seasoned kale), but the Jackfruit BBQ is delicious.

Young jackfruit absorbs added flavors really well. I’ve also eaten it in a quesadilla with more of a southwestern flavor profile. The texture of #jackfruit when “shredded” is similar to meat. I wouldn’t say it’s exactly the same, and may take a little getting used to, but definitely worth trying. #veganisnotscary #abillion
