Finally got to pay a visit to the Union Sq farmers market on this too hot but still beautiful Saturday☀️
I used to do this quite often until the pandemic hit. For a city girl like me, there’s just something magical about all the varieties of fresh produce and locally made foods 🥬🌶🥒🧅🥦🌽🥕🍓🍞🥧🧁🍺 So happy to be back😇
This #baguette was made of the simplest ingredients🥖: organic whole wheat flour, water, sea salt and yeast. I’ve developed gluten sensitivities since I came to the US, most likely due to the widely used high-gluten hybrid wheat flour🌾😢 (as a comparison, when I’m outside of the US, I don’t usually have any symptoms). So I’m pretty careful around wheat products, in case they knock me out😴 and threaten my gut while at it☠️ (no exaggeration here😰).
This is one of the non-gluten-free #bread that I can tolerate quite well😌. Possibly because they use #organic wheat, thus non-GMO, thus not the high-gluten kind. Also #sourdough helps.
Even though I’m used to the chew-free version of breads, it’s still nice to have the familiarity once in a while😋
Their baked goods, esp breads, are available in many grocery stores. But nothing beats the freshly baked ones, am I right?
