Review of Nasi Lemak at The Hungry Tapir by stevenneoh

Guess no one can really claim the #malaysianeats label if they don't have a #nasilemak option on their menu 🇲🇾🥰 I'd been wanting to try this for ages, glad I finally got the chance last night ☺️

The presentation is really good and helped whet the appetite. We were especially impressed with the use of the cucumber strip as an enclosure for the kacang 😂 The fried #tempeh bits were a passable substitute for ikan bilis (if that's what they were for), the #chilli vegetables were tasty, the #rendang #monkeyheadmushrooms were sublime, and the #coconutrice was fragrant 😋😋 Only letdown was the addition of tomato ketchup. How sacrilegious, no way! 😠

Portion size was good too. We got this as well as the lemak fettuccine to share (previously reviewed) in addition to the two starters; the S.O. has the appetite of a mouse, so we ended up leaving 40% of the rice behind 😬
