Milo

RM3.50 for 225 mL from Nestle's Lazada store.

Interesting to try a dairy-free version of Malaysia's national drink. There are ads for this product all over the place now; at the supermarkets, on billboards along the highway.

So, if you compare it with normal recipe:

Normal Milo 225mL
Protein: 1.9%
Fat: 1.7%
Carbohydrate: 10%
Sugar: 7%
Price: RM2.15 (on shopee)

Almond Milo (225mL)
Protein: 2.9%
Fat: 1.5%
Carbohydrate: 5.9%
Sugar: 3.7%
Price: RM3.50

So, more expensive than the normal recipe, but also a better nutritional profile. Low sugar % (for non-Malaysians here, Malaysia has a sugar tax in place for products >5% sugar. Milk products get >7% sugar because of lactose content).

Overall, the taste is exactly as you expect Milo to be. I enjoyed it, though I think the portion size felt a little small, ran out of drink very quickly. Compared to the normal milo, it's less sweet and more dilute tasting.

Not sure if Malaysians will consider this product to be a suitable replacement for Milo (because of price, sweetness, and thickness), but who knows? Nestle is promoting this product very hard right now, and Malaysians might accept a veganised version of the 'national drink'.
