Jackfruit Lamb Biryani at The Vegan Place (Hartamas) — Steven Neoh's Review (Apr 1, 2021)

Kuala Lumpur now has loads of plant-based places, and the vast majority are good considering that they are vegan. Every so often, someone comes along that is just good full stop 😉 (think Sala, Hungry Tapir, Sprout), and now we can add Foodbae to that (short) list.

I had initially been underwhelmed to see them use #whiterice, but then the #jackfruit lamb was crispy and flavourful, not at all stringy and tough (hope the rest are taking notes 😏), the side of braised vegetables (#cauliflower, #okra, #aubergine, #potato) was perfectly spiced, the entire dish just had such wonderful texture, and the packaging was informative and near-entirely biodegradable.
