Review of Veggie hot dog at IKEA Tampines by misssedgwick

I mean, I know it’s only $1.20 so I shouldn’t expect much, but still, this veggie dog doesn’t even try to resemble its meat counterpart? The bun is cold, the dog is a just mush of veggies. The toppings of fried onions and cabbage don’t go with the dog at all. Pure disappointment.

sgplantbasedfoodie Try buying it (frozen) home and pan frying. The pan frying really brings out the aromatic onion flavour inside the veggie dog, and I personally find it really good! 👍👍2 likesReply
misssedgwick Thanks for the tip! I just feel that if IKEA is serving this at their restaurant they should do much better than this! 😔1 likeReply
sgplantbasedfoodie Yes I totally agree. If they put in as much effort with the preparation as they do for the chicken wings, this will be a hit! My flexitarian family asked me what smelled so good when I was pan frying these. The smell can draw curious crowds to try these dogs man!1 likeReply
