Review of Birthday Cake Donut at bloomer's on Queen by hbchic

photo of bloomer's on Queen Birthday Cake Donut shared by @hbchic on 09 Feb 2021 - review

Normally Bloomers is fresh, unfortunately this doughnut was not. The lower portion of the doughnut was ok, but the cake bits on top were more like croutons and less like cake. Icing was cracking but doughnut itself was still soft at least.

I understand that businesses are trying to save money but compromising freshness and quality shouldn't be an option. If anything, I rather have less variety if that means that the item is fresh.

It would have been great if it was fresh. It's too bad.

malarky I’ve been taking a deep breath these days about exactly this issue. My very kind vegan friend (who runs her own business and who quietly inspired my becoming vegan) threw her whole lunch in the trash the other day without a word. When I asked she said it tasted off... I grumbled, but she said: “They’ve always served me stellar food and it must be near impossible for them to survive this long year. I hope they can make it through to the end of this.” So. I’m taking quite a few deep breaths and trying to emulate her. It’s hard!1 likeReply
greenuity I'm not a donut person. Muffins are my prefered alternatives, especially those whose main ingredients are bananas or carrots.Reply
