VEGAN

Violife

I love Violife products. I've heard that the company has been bought by a totally not vegan other company and that they are gonna decrease the number of violife products. Makes me very sad. I guess now I need to buy as soon as possible all the violife products I have not tried yet!

Anyway, I love this cheese. Been eating it since I ditched dairy in 2016. It's a little bit responsible of my weight because I ate SO MUCH of it in my first months as a vegan! I eat it sliced on a sandwich and more often than not I use it as a sauce to make my baked food cheesier. #veganuary

koyott I have read several articles from Violife resellers on the hot topic ... and at the moment I am not sure what to think because some people claim that the company that bought Violife has a non-vegan branch and others who say there is nothing for sure. 🤔🤷🏻‍♀️ I would be super sad if Violife disappeared because I also like these products !! 😭 The cheapest of the great tasting alternatives that help me in the transition from vegetarian to vegan ...1 likeReply
mikachu987 Yes I really hope that it says on the shelves for a very long time!1 likeReply
millyb Love this cheese too! And I also read about the controversy last summer (?) about Seitanfoods being distributor of Violofe in Sweden. But since it came to light that their ceo is a gross racist Violife quickly announced that they changed distributor, so you can buy their products with good conscience :) But the best thing of it all is that Sietanfoods lost all their suppliers during the controversy so they filed for bankruptcy!! 1 likeReply
mikachu987 Yeah I was following the story and couldn’t believe the unprofessionalism of the ceo of seitanfoods! But since you broached the subject: do you buy vital gluten wheat, and if so, where? Because now I cannot find it in Sweden anymore :( 1 likeReply
millyb I know right! I haven’t tried vital wheat gluten yet because I haven’t found it accessible in a store yet. A friend of mine buys it from bodystore.com but it costs 75kr for 500g which is a bit much for me haha. I’ve made seitan from washing out the starch from regular wheat flour, which is a bit tedious but works fine! if you find vwg somewhere please let me know! 1 likeReply
