Review of Belacan fried rice at Real Food by shawneofthedead
I could smell the wok hei once the dish was set down in front of me!! 🤤 Very fragrant. This isn't a super spicy or rich belachan - actually quite subtle and lovely. More on the umami side. Love the crunch of the purple cabbage. The brown rice is dotted with carrots, corn and shimeji mushrooms. Not a huge portion - probably just nice to be satisfying and not overwhelming. Also not overly oily and actually tastes nicer the more you eat it - thumbs up!
