Review of Fried Monkey Head Mushroom Butter 奶油猴頭菇 at Coco Veggie Nyonya Cuisine by shanna
I was quite impressed this was vegan. I asked the server twice if this was really vegan, and she explained that there is no milk, and coconut milk was used to create the buttery sauce. I liked how you bite through the mushroom and there's a slight nice crisp on the outside, but the teeth quickly find a soft chewy texture to slice through. The buttery sauce didnt have a coconut flavour and was just mildly sweet. Nice~~~

greasedferret I went to this restaurant today and asked about this dish - it is NOT VEGAN. The first server said yes but looked confused. After this I asked the more senior staff and they confirmed it is made with BUTTER. They could not modify it as vegan too. So beware!Reply
greasedferret Apparently it can be modified if they have soy cream but they did not have it. Reply
