Review of Mushroom Satay at The Buddha Bowl 泰幸福 by iluvnippon

Deep fried skewered Lion's Mane Mushroom (Hericium) served with diced cucumber and delicious peanut sauce, this is not the usual charcoal-grilled satay.

At S$8, it is a little on the high side, but not overly pricey. It is still one of the dishes we always want to order when we visit Food in the Woods.

The mushrooms are deep fried to perfect crispiness, and they go very well with the peanut sauce.

The diced cucumber adds a refreshing taste to the otherwise thick creamy peanut sauce.

We would have very much wanted onions as well, but we understand this is a vegetarian restaurant so... 😣

In any case, this dish is strongly recommended!

herbimetal Wow! I needa try this if I go there. Haven't really come across mushroom satay in SG. Last time I ate in Indonesia and it was fantastic!!! I went to a mushroom restaurant in Yogyakarta where they do lots of dishes from mushrooms and their dishes were mostly vegetarian!!Reply
iluvnippon @herbimetal we strongly recommend this dish! Another place that sells "satay" which are actually fried Lion's Mane Mushrooms is the vegetarian stall at the Tampines Mall food court. I believe they are a chain so there should be other outlets that offer the same item.Reply
