Doomie’s is a small vegan joint offering vegan versions of fried chicken, burgers, mac & cheese, and various other comfort foods. Open until midnight on weekdays and 3 AM on weekends, Doomie’s is the perfect place to satisfy your late-night greasy food cravings. With menu items such as their BBQ Pulled Pork Burger, Shrimp Po Boy, Mac Melt, and, not to mention, their specialty veganized Animal Style Fries, Doomie’s has EVERY vegan in L.A. talking (and eating). I knew I had to order the Mac Melt and Animal Style Fries.

The Mac Melt is a decadent vegan patty melt stuffed with their house-made mac & cheese, and my god was it AMAZING. It was everything you would expect from a Mac & Cheese Patty Melt - greasy, gooey, messy, and absolutely delicious. Understandably, the patty melt did feel pretty heavy after a few bites, so I was pretty stuffed after only the Mac Melt. But that didn’t stop me from going in on these veganized Animal Style Fries. Oh. My. God. After taking one bite of these fries, I was SO excited to find that they tasted exactly like their non-vegan counterpart, In n Out’s Animal Style Fries. Except Doomie’s version was dairy-free AND cruelty-free! You guys don’t understand how happy I was to find such a perfect alternative to seemingly everyone’s favorite late night grub. The Thousand Island sauce was perfectly creamy, the cheese was just the right amount, and the caramelized onions added a nice kick to the entire side. Just thinking about those fries makes my mouth water again! 🤤
