This was a special at Kinin! A baked eggplant with a choice of either pork or smoked tofu in tamarind sauce, ginger, and Thai basil with crispy garlic and cilantro on top! Obviously went with the tofu on this one, and it was super delicious! The eggplant was very soft and charred, and the tofu on top gave such a good Smokey umami flavour, with the tamarind adding a bit of sweetness. So unique and so happy to try something new here! My only complaint would be for the eggplant to have been warmer, as it wasn’t very hot when served. This was 6 USD and quite a good portion! #eggplantlover #tofulover

If you can believe it, this is #mangostickyrice🤔. Quite an avant-garde way of constructing a very classic dish, and I actually really loved the change! The orange mandarin looking thing was the sticky rice, formed into a ball and filled with mango puree on the inside!! Surrounding it was shaved fresh #mango, a mango and passion sorbet, and of course some sweet #coconutmilk. Somehow this all came together and really did give that classic mango sticky rice taste but with a unique set of textures. Super cool! #mangolover #sweettooth

My wonderful cousin, @tiascaz brought me to Kinin for my first dinner in Cambodia when I was visiting her back in August. Not only is the restaurant gorgeous being surrounded by plants, but the lok lak is outrageously good! Lok lak is a traditional Cambodian dish usually consisting of beef stewed in a black pepper gravy served and dipped in a black pepper and lime sauce. This one was made with tempeh and it was the best Lok lak I had during my 2 weeks in Cambodia. It’s also one of my top dishes after my seven months of travel in Asia. SO good!

A pretty solid dish. They always cook their tempeh well and the sauce for this was definitely different. Maybe more veggies than just green beans would have been appreciated.

This is my favourite Lok Lak yet!! It was so flavourful!! So saucy and the pepper sauce was delicious! Plus so much tempeh, my favourite vegan protein!

This restaurant does vegan versions of all the classic Cambodian dishes, which is so exciting!! This tofu was so yummy! Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the sauce was so flavourful, with a nice hint of ginger. I also loved the big pieces of grilled spring onion and the side cauliflower.

This salad was okay, nothing special though. I liked that the veggies were cooked, but it would’ve been better if they were grilled and still had some crunch. I always love tempeh, so that was a success!
