Odd Burger

9055 Airport Rd, Brampton, ON L6S 0B8, Canada

Odd Burger™ (formally Globally Local) was founded in 2014 and originated as a plant-based produce market and food box delivery company. The goal was to give people access to plant-based foods at an affordable price, in order to improve their health, help the environment and avoid harm to animals. In an effort to further this mission, Odd Burger™ launched a food truck in the fall of 2016 with tremendous success – selling out at local festivals and attracting large crowds on the street. The first Odd Burger™ brick and mortar restaurant opened in London, Ontario in December 2016, becoming Canada’s first vegan fast food restaurant. We are on a mission to help create a better world by making plant-based food accessible, affordable and delicious.

#vegan #veganisnotscary #veganfortheanimals #oddburger #crispyfamousburger #veganrestaurant #allveganrestaurant #plantbased #plantbasedfood #nomeatnoproblem I’ll start by saying this sandwich is massive!! Usually, pictures in restaurants of their food make the dishes more appealing and larger than they actually are. This is definitely not the case with this sandwich. The Crispy Famous Burger is just as big as it’s portrayed to be. Compare my first and last photos. I think I will ask for the middle slice of bread to be removed next time to cut back on its size. I had a hard time getting this sandwich in my mouth. Like everything else I’ve had at Odd Burger, the sandwich was very delicious and filling. This sandwich features two hand-formed seitan CkickUn fillets with Odd Burger’s famous sauce, shredded lettuce, dairy-free cheese and pickles. At no cost, I also asked for vegan mayo. The seitan ChickUn fillets were certainly crispy. They were close enough to tasting like chicken. I’m sure the sandwich wasn’t the healthiest thing on the menu, but I didn’t care tonight. I just wanted to try something new to be able to write another review. I love going to this restaurant. It’s 100% vegan and about 20 minutes from home. Sure, I can go to A&W or Burger King to get their plant-based burgers, but spending $20 there isn’t as meaningful as spending $20 at Odd Burger. This restaurant must survive and thrive. I’ll support A&W or Burger King another time when a 100% vegan restaurant is not in the neighborhood. The Crispy Famous Burger is $12.99 on its own. As a combo with French fries and a fountain drink, it was $19.48 ($22.01 with tax). I would definitely get this again, but probably without the middle bun.

#oddburger #supportlocalbusiness #supportlocal #vegan #veganisnotscary #plantbasedfood #greekfries #vegangreekfries #vegangreekfood #woodenforks To celebrate the lives of my dogs who have passed away, I always have a burger in their honour on their respective birthdays and on the anniversaries of their passing. Seven years ago, one of my beautiful bulldogs, Dexter, passed away. So I celebrated him at Odd Burger with the purchase of 2 menu items I had never ordered before. This review is for the second item, Greek Fries. I wanted something other than ‘regular’ fries or onion rings. So I got Greek Fries instead. According to the company’s website, “Who says you need a pita for the Greek experience? We start with our thick-cut fries, add our house-made dairy-free cheese sauce, then top it off with delicious gyro 'meat' crumble, our thick and creamy tzatziki sauce, tomatoes, red onions and Greek seasoning. You've got to experience this mind blowing flavour combination!” It definitely was a mind-blowing and flavourful combination!! The wonderful thing I find about vegan food is the creativity in the dishes. The combination of various foods and spices, sometimes prepared a little differently than usual, make vegan food very interesting and appealing to me (besides being ethically aligned with my beliefs). Also according to Odd Burger’s website: - The thick-cut potatoes / fries have a crispy coating and a special seasoning blend, fried to perfection. - The cheeze is made with dairy-free cheeze sauce and potatoes, carrots, onions, nutritional yeast, turmeric and our own cream cheese. - The gyro meat crumble is seitan roast, crumbled and grilled. Made from chickpeas, wheat gluten, nutritional yeast, soy sauce and a special blend of Greek herbs. - The tzatziki sauce is house-made dairy-free with organic soy milk, fresh garlic, fresh cucumber, fresh dill, oil and lemon juice. - The Greek seasoning is salt and paprika. I would definitely get this again. It was a wonderful combination of gyro and fries. Also, kudos to Odd Burger for having wooden forks instead of plastic ones. This order of Greek Fries is $7.99 if not purchased in a ‘combo’. This fast food restaurant is 100% vegan, and it’s nice to be able to order off the menu without having to seek modifications or ask questions about the ingredients. I will continue returning and supporting Odd Burger.

Seven years ago, one of my beautiful bulldogs, Dexter, passed away. So I celebrated him at Odd Burger with the purchase of 2 menu items I had never ordered before. This review is for the first item, the ChickUn Cordon Bleu. I wanted something other than a vegan ‘beef’ burger. So I got the ChickUn Cordon Bleu sandwich instead. According to the company’s website, “Try our classic chickUn burger with an inspirational French twist! We take our hand-formed seitan chickUn fillet, and top it with plant-based ham and dairy-free cheeze. This is perhaps our most sophisticated sandwich on the menu.“ It was yummy and wasn’t messy like some burgers can be. Also according to Odd Burger’s website: - The crispy chickun fillet is a house-made seitan fillet made from oats, chickpeas, wheat gluten and nutritional yeast. They’re hand-formed, battered and fried to crispy perfection. - The mayo is house-made and dairy-free made with organic soy milk. - The ham is plant-based made from non-GMO soy. - Of course, the cheeze is dairy-free. I was so happy that this tasted as well as it did. Usually, self-proclaimed carnivores complain about how fake plant-based meat is, but this chickun patty tasted phenomenally. This sandwich is $9.49 if not purchased in a ‘combo’. This fast food restaurant is 100% vegan, and it’s nice to be able to order off the menu without having to seek modifications or ask questions about the ingredients. I will continue returning and supporting Odd Burger.

#oddburger #stickyburger #supportlocalbusiness #supportlocal #vegan #veganisnotscary #plantbasedfood #plantbasedfood #plantbased To celebrate the lives of my dogs who have passed away, I always have a burger in their honour on their respective birthdays and on the anniversaries of their passing. Eighteen years ago today, one of my beautiful bulldogs, Geddy Jr, was born. So I celebrated him at Odd Burger. I think he would have approved tonight’s burger - the Sticky ChickUn Burger. It was a change from the meat-imitating plant-based burgers I usually get. According to Odd Burger’s website, “This burger starts with our house-made crispy chickUn fillet and then tossed in Korean sesame sauce. It's sweet, it's sticky and it's delicious!” It was delicious. I can’t disagree with that, but I wish there was more Korean sesame sauce on it to give it a gooey experience. I was also expecting there to be a little heat, but unfortunately there wasn’t. The crispy chickun fillet is a house-made seitan fillet made from oats, chickpeas, wheat gluten and nutritional yeast. These fillets are hand-formed, battered and fried to crispy perfection. The mayo is house-made, dairy-free and made with organic soy milk. You cannot see the mail in the second photo as it was between the top half of the bun and the lettuce. The Korean sesame sauce is house-blended with Korean sesame sauce and sriracha. There were also a few pickle slices under the lettuce leaf. This fast food restaurant is 100% vegan, and it’s nice to be able to order off the menu without having to seek modifications or ask questions about the ingredients. I will definitely return and support Odd Burger. I would definitely get this burger again. The burger was $8.99 on its own, or $15.48 as a combo (with fries [which were really good] and a soft drink).

#vegan #veganisnotscary #veganfastfood #allveganfastfood #oddburger #preposterousburger #smashpatty Usually I go to Odd Burger to celebrate my dogs who have passed away, but this time, it was a promotion that enticed me to go to Odd Burger. The promotion was half price BacUn Famous Melt Burgers (until October 31). Ironically, I chose something else on the menu - a Preposterous Burger Combo (burger, onions, soft drink). This review is only for the Preposterous Burger. Again, Odd Burger came through with another delicious burger. The Preposterous Burger is basically a plant-based / vegan double burger. According to the restaurant’s website, it is “A double 'meaty' sensation, featuring our house-made smash patties on a toasted golden bun with just the right balance of toppings. You'll find it hard to believe that this is made from plants!” The Smash Patties are “Two house-made patties crafted from wheat and soy protein, flax seeds, onions, nutritional yeast and a special seasoning blend.” And they’re topped with mayo (“House-made dairy-free mayo made with organic soy milk.”), ketchup, mustard, pickle slices, red onion slices and a lettuce leaf. It was so good! I really like how the patties didn’t have that mass- produced uniform look. I’m sure it’s not the healthiest burger around, but I’ll take it any day over meat burger. The Preposterous Burger combo was $18.61, including tax and the small premium for getting onion rings instead of the default french fries. I would definitely get this again.

#oddburger #vopper #supportlocalbusiness #supportlocal #vegan #veganisnotscary #plantbasedfood To celebrate the lives of my dogs who have passed away, I always have a burger in their honour on their respective birthdays and on the anniversaries of their passing. On September 16, 1992, my beautiful first dog, AJ, was born (sharing the day with my mom’s birthday). Sadly, he passed away 10 years ago. So I celebrated AJ’s birthday with a Vopper sandwich at Odd Burger. I normally love the food at Odd Burger, but on this particular visit, the burger seemed off. I’ve had the Vopper before, and loved it. I can’t say the same this time. According to the company’s website, the Vopper is described as “A burger truly fit for a king or queen! This fast food classic is arguably our most perfectly balanced burger, and features our house-made smoky bacUn and smash patty. This burger will have you craving more!” It also had cheese, mayo, pickles, lettuce and white onions. The Smash Patty is a house-made patty crafted from wheat and soy protein, flax seeds, onions, nutritional yeast and a special seasoning blend. The seitan bacun is crafted from oats, chickpeas, wheat gluten and our special smoky marinade. The cheese is a dairy-free American-style cheddar cheeze. This fast food restaurant is 100% vegan and it’s nice to be able to order off the menu without having to seek modifications or ask questions about the ingredients. I will definitely return and support Odd Burger. And I would still get the Vopper again. The Vopper with onion rings and a soft drink came out to $18.61.
