Jesse and I got this #beancurd roll at my favourite restaurant of all time, Zen Gardens. It wasn't super for me. The texture was not what I wanted, nor the flavour. But Jesse liked it. It was around $4 or $5.

ALERT ALERT ⚠️ 📢 COMBINATIONS HAVE FINALLY RETURNED AT ZEN GARDENS MISSSISSAUGA LOCATION!!!!! This used to be my go-to meal, but about 5 years ago now, they discontinued them. It was a shame because it allowed people to try so many little bits and pieces from the menu. I was ELATED when I saw that this had returned! It used to have purple rice, a delicious veggie and fruit salad, your main, 2 nuggets and a small soup of the day for $13.99. However, this new combination comes with white rice, the main, some fruit, a bite of seaweed salad and 2 nuggets. No soup! The price was $14.99. I thought this was still a better idea than just ordering the #teriyaki cutlets on their own, as a plate of just cutlets (no rice) is around $18. Here you get a better deal. I did not like how the orange seeped into the seaweed salad, but everything else rocked. Those #vegannuggets are insanely amazing. And the teriyaki cutlets just are superb! We loved everything. You can get this deal Monday to Friday from 11:30 - 2:00.

NEW DISH ALERT! #firstreview I was SO excited when I saw that Zen Gardens had new menu items when we went in today! I squeeled! Jesse convinced me to get this #vegan bacon #friedrice. I NEVER would have chosen this, as I am not normally drawn to words like "bacon" LOL! I am so glad Jesse made us get this because I think we have decided that this makes it into the top 3 best dishes here! It was DELICIOUS! Like unreal! I can't even believe it! It was $14.99. The server was also saying how unreal it was and how she can't stop herself from eating it all at once LOL! Love it. It was described as: stir fried rice tossed with veggie bacon, #carrots, #corn and #sugarsnappeas . The depth and smokiness and char...we couldn't get enough! And how nicely coated in oil this was but it wasn't too oily?! How?!?! And even though the sugar snap peas were cut so thinly, it was what brought such freshness to the dish. Just wooooowwwwww. And how the grains stuck together and didn't crumble apart like other fried rice. Jesse just kept saying how much this dish reminded him of China :) so fun! The bacon was King's Bacon. I will be making this dish a regular part of my order! :)

Tomorrow is my birthday, but Jesse is working tomorrow night so we celebrate my birthday together today :) We OF COURSE had to go to Zen Gardens. Ugh. Best restaurant EVER! It was $8.99 for the small. It came with 8 #wontons and loads of greenery lol and crispy soy pieces and carrots. The broth is insane. #broth It is so clear but PACKED with umami flavours. THE DEPTH! I just am in love. We were also exclaiming on how chewy yet delightfully delicious the wrappers were. And the filling is also just drool-worthy. Best spot! Who wants to go with me???

I took my mom to Zen Gardens to show her the Tom yang vermicelli soup. I sadly wrote #S37 and not S36. It was an accident. So we ended up with this. I was sooo disappointed lol. It was fine, it just wasn't what I wanted. But it was my #mistake. I don't know what it was called or how much it is, because I can't find it on their online menu. I did like the #veganmeat That was definitely the best part. The noodles were wheat noodles. It had braised 🥕 and bok choy. It also had this onion/root thing that soaked up the broth nicely. The broth was like a sweet and sour broth. It had cinnamon notes. Not horrible, but I won't be getting it again. I suspect it was around $18 or $20. My mom treated me, so that was super kind of her. Glad to know it was at least #vegan I think people would love this dish, just not for me :)

My friend ordered these and I got to try some. They were perfect to go along with everything else we ate, without having too much flavour to overpower anything else. Nice #crispy #noods with light seasoning and lots of bean sprouts. I'll definitely be getting these for myself next time! #veganisdelicious

I flippin' love red bean balls! I haven't had these in years because the red bean paste usually has honey in it. I'm sorry for the crappy photos - the lights were down when our food arrived and my phone was not impressed. If you haven't tried these, they're basically dumplings made of gooey rice flour, stuffed with red bean paste, fried and coated with sesame seeds. They're tender with a little chew and #crispy outsides. A little #sweet but not overly. I want to eat these daily #veganisdelicious

11 years ago, the first time I went to Zen Gardens, this was the first time I had ever seen purple rice! I love its nutty flavour, how filling it is, it's chewy texture. It is a necessary side whenever you get a main dish. Yummmmmm.

I LOVE THESE SO MUCH! Enoki mushrooms wrapped in seaweed and then dipped in a batter and deep fried. So unique. So flavourful! It is always a hit. Usually most people's favourite thing when they come here. Yuymmmmmmm. I brought some of my friends here on a PD day and they LOVED everything.

I'm surprised I haven't reviewed these yet. These are INCREDIBLE! They legit taste like McDonald's chicken nuggets, without the harm. Such flavourful breading. A great appetizer to share with friends. A staple.

I was going to try one of the many recommended dishes but as soon as I saw "gai lan" I knew I had to get this. It's my favourite green veg! This had a nice ginger sauce that was maybe a little too runny as I had to slurp nearly as much as I would with a soup, but the flavour was great. The leftover sauce was also very amazing drizzled over the BBQ Seitan! I literally just ate some of the leftovers and I already want more 🤤

This was so tasty and I'm glad I finally tried it. Their prices seem to be pretty high these days... I think this was about $18. That said, I got two entrees so I have a fair bit leftover. The flavour of this was only made better when I threw it in with the sauce from my gai lan dish. Highly recommend everyone do that!
