I ate at at a branch of the oldest #vegetarian restaurant in the world today 🏆 They have been around since 1898, originally as “Vegetarierheim & Abstinenzcafé” when “Ambrosius Hiltl” on advice of his doctor to mend his rheumatism visited the restaurant and fell in love with “Martha Gneupel”, the cook! 😍 He ended up marrying her and together they took over the restaurant 💖 It’s such an interesting story that you can read more about here 👇

No shocker of course, after such a rich history they absolutely rock at #plantbased cuisine 🤘 For the #buffet, you don’t have to register or anything. You can immediately pick up a plate and start paying. The food is sold by weight! 🤯 I have no idea how that works, but even my incredibly oversized meal came to just over CHF 20 with a #cappuccino included ☕️
They have a whole array of #legumes 🫘, #mezze, grains 🌾 and cooked vegetables to pick from! I naturally went for several forms of #eggplant because I strongly believe plant should be egg 🍆 I don’t care what you think 🤷♀️ Plant should be egg and facts don’t care about your feeling. Plant is egg. That’s why it’s grow 💆♀️
Literally no notes 📝 Everything from the #vegansausage to the #tofu based #veganeggsalad was perfect 😋 Sorry #economyrice but I’ve got a new bestie now 💅 Gourmet vegetarian cuisine!
Yes, vegetarian because some things still have #murdairy but it’s luckily a minority 🐄 The #rosti had it though 😣 Deeply embarrassing for them 😔
If you’re wondering how to get here you have to look for a glass elevator 🛗 from the street. There’s a little board that tells you to go to the third floor if you have auditory hallucinations. Otherwise you can also just read it. I’m elated! 🤩
