Even though this is a meat lover's heaven, the chefs are thoughtful to offer 4 vegan mains. I had the Japanese pumpkin as it's not the usual pasta or salad options. Nicely baked till the skin is also crispy and edible, like a cookie. The Cashew cream makes this a very lovely dish.

Who knew a grill restaurant would have a nice selection of vegan dishes? Call me crazy but I love starting a meal with a hearty soup — yes even in crazy hot Singapore! This was made sous vide celeriac which is naturally so creamy, and had lovely added textures with celeriac chips and croutons, finished with a drizzle of basil oil. Earthy and comforting, but I did add in an extra pinch or two of salt.

Finally posting about this incredible dinner that my dear friend @letusbeheroes treated @mrsgarg and I to recently. Thanks to Chef @damian who is the Shangri La Hotel’s dedicated vegan chef for preparing this amazing feast! Everything was so unique and bursting with flavors. It’s so hard to describe each dish but I loved the little touches in each one that must have taken hours if not days to prepare. Ah yes.. one photo is missing... the spirulina linguine with green kale pesto was so good Sonia ate mine too before I could get a photo! Amazing 🤩 Definitely check out Origin Grill if you haven’t been there. It’s a beautiful space that’s very warm and welcoming and the vegan food is incredible and I think most of these dishes are available a la carte!

I liked this dessert! the basil and strawberry worked very well together. The tart was also really crunchy and biscuity. Origin grill has really good service by the way! The staff are super attentive :)

Don’t order this. It was just a lottt of mushroom. Mushroom that wasn’t marinated well. The middle of it lacked flavour so overall the dish was truly bland and hard to finish. The black garlic oil taste was not strong. The smoked pumpkin cream didn’t taste smoky :( and I love smoky flavours like in babaganoush where the eggplant is charred. There also wasn’t enough pumpkin cream which had the potential to make this dish less bland :(

Nooo so disappointed. Good presentation but not taste. This was $24 and I wouldn’t get it again. The beet slices were unexpectedly thick and crunchy. The name sea-soned made me think it would be soft like the carrot sashimi at Joie Restaurant :( The jackfruit wasn’t anything special too. I think the jackfruit from a can tastes just as good if not better.

Still trying to figure out what “impregnated strawberry” means 🤣🤣🤣 but I loved the puffed chocolate rice and the matcha tea and basil gel inside the tart. So good!!

#wow!!!! I can now tell my wife @mrsgarg that I can eat as much pasta as I want thanks to this #spirulina pasta at Origin Grill. It was made with a kale 🥬 and olive pesto, truffle oil, kale chips and topped with roasted almonds. One of the most creative pasta dishes I’ve had in a long time. Best part it was satisfying and felt healthy!

Wow this was so good! It was 🍅 prepared three different ways and served with crunchy seed crackers and black olive powder! Everything on the menu here is super creative. It was the first time I was eating at Origins at the Shangri-La Hotel. Thanks to my dear friend @letusbeheroes for the amazing meal!

Not sure this is part of the standard menu, but you can always request for special occasions. This is a raw beet ravioli stuffed with the amazing 4my camembert. As good as it looks, and healthy

Maitake happens to be one of my favorite mushrooms, its texture is firm and not slimy yet full of flavor. This is a grilled Maitake over pumpkin cream, with black garlic oil and water cress. It’s delicious and light.
