For RM6, you get a mix of rice vermicelli and yellow noodles, fried tau kwa (i.e. firm tofu), tofu puffs and long beans. Curry was aromatic and rich in a balanced way. Stirring the spoonful of sambal chilli into the curry enhanced its flavour (don’t worry it was not too spicy). Fantastic experience eating at this roadside stall like a local. #penang #currynoodles
Ugh, I cannot with #currymee 🤩 It’s literally my favourite elements of #malaysianeats put together — #yellownoodles plus #curry 🍜, #tofupuff 💅, and #sambal / #belacan 🤤 This one is pretty on point ✌️ It’s on the lighter side than the #gao ones we get in Singapore but it’s much more refreshing on hotter days 😋 For RM6 in an #openair setting, having #hawkerfood on the side of the road, this is the epitome of #penang dining! 🙌 #currylover #coconutmilk #santan #penangvegan
There's this myth that there's no vegan Penang food 🙄 I probably contributed to it by being blissfully unaware of places like this one, hiding in plain sight 😅 This is your traditional kopitiam, without cruelty on the menu. I recommend getting your fix of authentic Penang fare here; my litmus test is whether the auntie opens the conversation in Penang Hokkien. Test passed ☺️ This #spicy dish is what southerners and Singaporeans call #laksa (which in Penang refers to something else). It comes with #tofu, #taupok, #kangkong, #beansprout, and some #mint leaves for aesthetic effect. I normally switch the noodles for #beehoon; they are flexible and will accommodate most requests. #supportlocal #malaysianeats And btw this cost just RM5 😋
