We've tried lots of different plant milks but always come back to oat because of its versatility and its lower environmental impact.

Here in Toronto, Earth's Own is easy to find and is often featured on sale.  

It's my favourite for coffee and tea since it's a little thicker than other brands.

I often substitute it for coconut milk in recipes (unless it's a type of recipe, like Thai food, that would be dependent on the taste of coconut milk).  This helps reduce our saturated fat intake.

This milk cooks down into a nice sauce for mushroom stroganoff and it makes killer mashed potatoes.

I always use Bob's when I make seitan.  I love making my seitan using #86eats recipes since they are pretty simple and most of the kneading is done by the food processor.  This roast beef is a little over done but it's delish in a wrap with veggies, vegan may and horseradish. I find the Bob's Red Mill Vital Wheat Gluten reliable and easy to find in stores.  The price is pretty average but it's definitely a brand I trust.  It would be nice if they switched to paper bags like traditional flour.

Since becoming vegan I've been using flax eggs with mixed results.  I find that subbing flax eggs in traditioal recipes doesn't always work out so when I noticed this egg replacer I thought I would give it a try.

I made two apple breads from a traditional recipe that called for 4 eggs.  The breads are quite delicate in texture and they are delicious. 

This egg replacer is kind of expense - 6 Canadian dollars - so I won't use it where flax will do, like in cornbread or muffins - but it's a nice option for baked goods with a more delicate crumb.
