Somehow this #mochi didn't taste quite like mochi. Googled it expost, apparently #warabimochi is less chewy and more slimy 🤨 Very mild flavour compensated for by the heavily sweetened syrup in there (anyone with a #sweettooth rejoice 🙌) We got this to share among two; for one it might actually be a bit much 😅

Nope, this wasn't an onsen bath for elves 😏 From the previous review with tea trying to be soup, this was #whitetea trying to be a #cocktail (not completely successfully, imo 😬) I didn't really feel the booze in this, and somehow there was enough liquid separation that the #ginger and #peach pieces settled near the bottom and made the bottom half of this mealy rather than drinkable 😐 Nice idea though!

Not something that I had been planning to review, hence why I've had to salvage this by zooming in on a corner of a photo of something else that I'd taken 😂 But hey, #forthedollar everything is fair game right? This #crafttea can definitely go into the esoteric category. And not in a good way 🥴 I didn't taste any of the #plum. In fact, you notice the spoon? That's because this was salty and highly reminiscent of clear soup, hence it was treated as such 😐

Ooh 😯 Never had vegan #mentaiko before! Clearly abillion agrees, as the hashtag hasn't been used before! 😛 There's a bunch of interesting ingredients in here, from #scallion and #nori to #seagrapes and the pickled #ginger, but the overall effect was to turn this into some sort of mutant asam laksa with an ill-fittingly fat #udon as the choice of #noodles 😅 Probably not something I would get again, but I'm glad to have tried it 🙂

We discovered a chic new #japanese place completely by accident! We went to one of our favourite bars just across the road in TTDI, and Maps alerted me of a new vegan place in the vicinity 😚 This is almost in #finedining territory; the decor and ambience (see pictures 3 onwards) aren't matched by the quality of softer elements like service. Accordingly, prices are a couple of notches above midrange but nowhere near KL's top end 🙂 They have an extensive #sushi menu (last two pictures), and all of the items on it are really inventive (rather than classic). We were clearly having a hard time choosing just one to go with, so the waiter suggested we leave the choice to the chef instead. I immediately demurred, as much for the novelty of leaving everything to the chef knowing that said everything would turn out to be safe for vegan consumption 😏 The only thing that I specified was the bottom-left one, which was black garlic with wild mushroom. Everything else was chosen for me. And delicious 😋 And paired with genuine wasabi. RM45 is not an everyday price, but every once in a while you've got to #loveyourself 🥰 Immediately onto my #bestpicks list of vegan places in greater KL ☺️

This wasn't as greasy and crispy as perhaps the term #deepfried had got me thinking it would be 😅 It was decent enough if and only if you like your #yam. Although the menu mentions #lotus, #leek, and #spinach, these are there in minimal quantities for artistic and/or peripheral effect only. We had this as a #starter shared between two, which was good as it didn't last long and we still had enough hunger afterwards to proceed straight into the next course 😅

The presentation is pretty, with the #edibleflower and the asymmetric bowl and the cute cutlery, but otherwise this #coldsoup wasn't particularly memorable. The waiter in fact tried to get us to order the inakajiru soup instead of this, but blinded by my love of #sweetcorn and of #soymilk I didn't listen 🙈 The corn fibres were interesting but ultimately annoying as they were hard to disentangle/slice through with a soup spoon, and we were sharing this (as we did for everything).
