Perfect 👍🏼 meat substitute for the tacos 🌮 I made tonight! Canned jackfruit by Trader

Joe’s can be used in a wide variety of dishes! I combined with oyster mushrooms 🍄 for a heartier taco 🌮!
Good 👍🏼 source of #fiber and #lowinsodium!
Will definitely keep a couple of these on hand 🤚 in my pantry!
I believe this was $2 at Trader Joe’s

Genius! Great price, fantastic, nourishing, versatile food.. these went into my Jack fruit chili, since

it’s National chilli day😁 love how it takes on the flavors it’s cooked with but maintains a hint of its own interesting flavor. Can’t beat the price point or convenience.

Trader Joe’s is a constant source of new and interesting foods. I’m grateful to have

discovered their jackfruit just as I started going more and more plant-based. These cans are a great pantry staple. I’ve won a vegetarian chili contest judged by firefighters with them. Most recently, my partner made me a coconut jackfruit stew (with chickpea mashed potatoes) that was delightful. May have to do them as a meat sub in tacos next! #abillionlove

Made a batch of spicy jackfruit. This is the ideal meal prep meal, easy to

make, flavorful, versatile🌮🥗🥪🍝 and doesn’t go soggily sad after day 2✌🏼. The taste actually gets better with time.
I can’t quite judge the quality of this product since I’ve never tried another brand, not that there are many choices here. All I can say is that the chunks are good size and just the right texture, not too soft but easy to pull apart. Not sure about the brine thing, I just assume it’s for preservation purpose. And I always rinse and drain them really well to get rid of the taste (perhaps someone has some insight on this?)
I only wish TJ makes their cans BPA free. But otherwise, these are easy to prepare and soak up tons of flavor. They’re also high in fiber and low in sugar (0g) compared to their ripe counterparts ;)
