Rich spicy coconut stew made using lion’s mane mushroom in lieu of soy meat! Always love dishes made using whole foods instead of meat substitutes, especially given the cognitive benefits of lion's mane mushrooms. My non-veg father saw another table having this and insisted that it looked so good we had to order it haha. It was indeed his favourite dish of the meal! I did find it a little pricey considering the small serving though. Perhaps there could have been some potato cubes included in the rendang, or the rendang could have been topped with a few pieces of their housemade crackers, to make it more value-for-money and improve the presentation too. Not a flattering photo,but this dish is so good. Firstly,i really love the Indonesian style #rendang and how sm simple add on of spice or ingredient really makes a huge difference in taste. They use my uber favourite #lionmane mushroom,cut in generously sized portion. Slightly more gravy then yr average local or malay style rendang but that works pretty well for me. This is definitely one of my top 3 favourite dish frm Warong Ijo. 1) gulai fish 2) petai cabe ijo 3) lion mane rendang And on a sidenote- whoaaahhh i just hit my 500th review! 🤗
