Alright, I'll grudgingly post a 5-star review of a LaGula item 😏 You do have to put up with their dodgy, lackadaisical service when you dine here, but whoever is in charge of the #allveganpatisserie clearly knows a thing or two about #bakedgoods 🙂 This #croissant was super flaky and delightful, even the morning after (we did takeaway after we were done with dinner) and reheated! Not the most buttery or the sweetest that you will find, but very nicely balanced 😋 In addition to the #almond flakes on top, there was also an #almondcream on the inside (they slit the #pastry lengthwise on the side opposite the camera, and then spread the love 😉) #breakfastofchampions 💪
Finally got the chance to pop into this place! I love The Hungry Tapir, so I was excited to check out this sister branch. Didn't have long, but I HAD to get myself an almond croissant- the best filling 😋 It was super tasty - will definitely be back here. Only thing knocking it down a star was the headache-inducing music they were blarring out at 11am. Seriously messed with the otherwise lovely atmosphere!
This is one of, if not my favourite pastry of all time. So even though I had a croissant for lunch, I had to follow in @david- ‘s steps and do a double #croissant moment. While I thought this #almondcroissant was delicious, I do think they might have kept it in the oven too long so it was a little too dry. Each bite was a quite crumbly, #hotmess. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it, as you can see in the last photo.

They have distinct layers, a delicate crunch when bitten, and a rich, buttery flavor that lingers. And in this variation they combine it with a delicious thin almond topping, again topped with #almond anf powdered sugar. What makes this perfect and a croissant to remember is the filling: #frangipane, an almond-flavored pastry cream, is used in this croissant. It adds a rich and creamy texture, enhancing the almond flavor and contributing to the overall decadence of the pastry. Would you believe this is vegan?? 🌱
