@jonok and I had a fun shopping trip at Whole Foods this weekend. This pudding was an especially fun find. It's a delicious coconut milk based chocolate pudding in a glass jar. This was an incredible dessert after we had wine and charcuterie! This chocolate is so delicious. It's not too sweet and feels really decadent. The texture of the pudding is really perfect. I love that it had a strong coconut aftertaste. The coconut and chocolate flavors really compliment each other! #chocolate #chocoholic #pudding #dessert #coconut #coconutlover #coconutmilk #simpleingredients #glasspackaging #glutenfree #soyfree

Shopping at Whole Foods, I noticed that this Zen pudding was on sale and decided to purchase it to see if it was any good. It was okay. Not exactly a dairy-comparable pudding, but also not too far off. It just tasted like it was missing something. I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I could tell the difference. The texture, however, was right on the money. Thick and pudding-like, with a little jiggle. I was amazed that they were able to do this with just 7 ingredients, the first being water, so really 6. As it is a coconut product there is more saturated fats (8g, with a total of 9g of fat), but I think there is good debate on whether this type needs to be avoided or not - see, for example: https://www.mindbodygreen.com/0-27318/a-doctor-explains-why-saturated-fat-in-coconut-oil-isnt-a-problem.html. There are also 21g of carbs and 1g of protein, totaling up to 170 calories. This is just for a 4.5 oz, or 128g, half-cup of pudding. I found the product to be a bit on the expensive side. Normally around $2.99, it was on sale for 2/$5. It does come in a glass jar, which is nice. However, I don’t think I’ll buy this anytime soon again.
