The manufacturers have gone to some trouble to make this look like smoked salmon but it’s actually made from cornflour and rice starch. See the photo for all the ingredients. We tried a no looking test on one of the family who eats fish. Whilst he could tell the difference, he thought the texture was very accurate. Adding a good squeeze of lemon brought out the spice flavours of paprika and fenugreek. It went well with avocado and a lovely fresh salad. I don’t miss the taste of fish which I did eat before waking up to the need to be vegan, so I probably wouldn’t buy this product myself - my dear sister got it for me to try - but I reckon these are great options for people who do miss those tastes. #goveganfortheanimals #nofish #abillionlove

I have been quite freaked out by salmon replacements in the past but this one was actually really tasty! The trick (for me!) is not to use too much & then it’s not an overwhelming taste and texture. But I would definitely have this again! Wish it wasn’t seasonal!

In all my years being vegan I’ve never been so grossed out by the similarity to animal products as with this Aldi #vegansalmon - which is a good or bad thing depending who you are. 🐟 It was so fishy I couldn’t eat it. Not for me at all, but my omni boyfriend really liked it. Not sure how to review this but since it’s going for a replica of #salmon I think they did their job. #veganfish
Another great smoked salmon alternative. It's got the oily texture and smokey/fishy smell. I still prefer the Asda smoked salmon alternative I reviewed previously but this is another good option. The only slightly negative thing is that it has 4 large slices, so I used the whole packet in just 2 meals.
