When I need a break from brown rice, I use this visually exciting quinoa blend to add satisfying nuttiness and bulk to soups, bowls, and salads. It cooks in about 20 minutes on the stovetop with minimal supervision (and I imagine the microwave would be even faster.) Although the bag seems small at first, the price is fair, plus the volume grows considerably through liquid absorption. One small thing I’ve noticed is that each variety seems to cook at a slightly different rate, with the white quinoa typically softening earliest. I haven’t found it bothersome, but it might be best to pick up a single-color bag if uniformity matters.
