okay… don’t get me wrong… i loooove murasaki #sweetpotatoes … the #purple outside and the white flesh are my favorite combination and i enjoy the texture. it’s a little drier and less watery than a typical #sweetpotato, and i like the creamy and somewhat dense flesh. HOWEVER. #traderjoes has murasaki sweet #potatoes that vary dramatically in quality 😭 sometimes they’re amazing and perfectly textured and delicious… sometimes they are too dry, crusty, rot quickly, and are wrinkly! i can never tell what im going to find at the store, so j can’t count on them being there… amazing potato but man, they’re hard to purchase. i’ve also found that trader joe’s does not have the best murasaki sweet potatoes in general compared to other places i’ve found them. #vegantraderjoes

I love sweet potatoes and look for these on every shopping trip — they’re probably my all-time favorite Trader Joe’s product, which is not an assertion I make lightly. I typically roast them for a grab-and-go snack or chop one up to toss in with steaming rice. I vastly prefer them to the orange variety; the Murasaki is less sugary, but also fluffier, drier, and less fibrous. Its flesh takes on a pale gold hue and is mildly sweet and hearty, especially when baked (2nd image.) I pray that Trader Joe’s never stops selling these precious purple potatoes.
