The handle is bamboo and durable. The bristles are are very soft made of Nylon.
If brushing too hard these bristles will separate and become smashed down. Great for gum health so one is not scraping away at the gum line. The bamboo handle can be a irritating at the corners of the mouth. For this reason I gave it 4.
