I’m definitely a novice when it comes to vegan seafoods, so I don’t have a great basis of comparison, but I could see myself enjoying these Thai-inspired cakes every once in a while. I thought that their flaky texture did a reasonable job of approximating fish. They browned nicely and didn’t fall apart in the pan. Interestingly, the fish smell was pretty intense during cooking (some may find it off-putting,) but I didn’t really taste it — the actual flavor is predominantly lemongrass and other herbs.
