I bought this box of Daiya White Cheddar Mac & Cheese (and a couple other flavours) at Grocery Outlet a few months ago. I can’t remember if the price was 3 for $5 or 3 for $10.
In my pre-vegan days, I didn’t eat much mac & cheese. But now that I’m vegan, I was quite interested in trying this vegan equivalent, despite the outrageous sodium content.
I was quite impressed with the amount of sauce that was in the foil package. See the second last photo. Every noodle was very well covered in sauce after I mixed it in. But the sodium content was just too much. The sauce was so / too salty for me. I was actually turned off by the salty taste. Now I’m reluctant to cook and eat the other two boxes.
On the plus side, there is a lot of calcium and protein.
If the company would reduce the amount of sodium and fat in this product, I would buy it again. Until then I would be extremely reluctant.
