Last week I had this brilliant idea, absolutely brilliant, all my own and not influenced

by anyone, especially someone with a name that sounds a little like "blalarky". 😉 Anyhow, instead of pan-frying or grilling my Dr Praeger's veggie patty, I toss it in the toaster-oven and bake it. That's right - bake it! I mean who comes up with ideas like this? Me, that's who, and no one else. But my brilliance didn't stop there. No no no. I layer one of these mozz flavour slices on top of that bad boy and ... Oh. Snap! Just realized that this dish might have been better if I added the slice and then returned the burger to the oven for it to melt. OMG!! Mary @malarky, where were you? This is something you would have thought of and done. I'd "steal" the idea, claim it as my own and become an abillionaire legend. Come on!

Oh well. No idea how mozz tasted since I added a few other cheese substitutes and toppings. Next time.

Recently enjoying making personal sized pizzas with freshly kneaded dough and black beans, peppers, onions,

tomatoes, and, and, umm, there's something else. Snap! Lost it. Slipped my mind. Oh well. Sooooo good. Will make it again, again, and again.

I buy this shredded plant-based cheese quite often and I’m

surprised I haven’t yet reviewed it. Both Daiya and Violife are my go-to brands.

I love the way this cheese melts. The second last photo shows a pre-baked pizza with two types of plant-based cheese. The little segment closest to the camera / phone is Daiya. The last photo is the same pizza baked. You see a noticeable difference in the two cheeses’ ability to melt. The Daiya cheese melted ‘normally’ ( as you would expect a dairy-based mozzarella cheese to melt). The other did not melt at all; in fact, it hardened.

Each serving of this cheese contains 13% of your day’s recommended calcium.

The one negative about this cheese is its wet/moist texture. I find this odd, but it still tastes good!

I will continue buying this.

I have not purchased these for a long time … so I wanted to see

how they changed … they have a oily feel … they are ok right out of the bag … but not OMG this is good right out of the bag … I used them along with another cheese to make a not turkey .. turkey cosmo… or you may call it a baked sub … toasted hoagie… many different names … When I make a heated sandwich.. a lot of times I use shreds as well as slices …
It was delicious… and these do melt well …
