🍫Cliff Bar’s Chocolate brownie energy bars had come in super handy for my long hikes at the Japanese alps last year.⛰️ The pictures here are of the mini version at 28g per bar. The bar was more delicious than i expected and i especially like that the listed ingredients look quite clean: "Organic Rolled Oats, Organic Brown Rice Syrup, Soy Rice Crisps (Soy Protein Isolate, Rice Flour, Barley Malt Extract), Organic Roasted Soybeans, Organic Tapioca Syrup, Organic Cane Syrup, Chicory Fiber, Unsweetened Chocolate, Cocoa, Organic Soy Flour, Sunflower And/Or Soybean Oil, Natural Flavors, Alkalized Cocoa, Salt, Mixed Tocopherols (Antioxidant). Allergen Statement: Contains Soy. May Contain Peanuts, Tree Nuts, Milk, Sesame, And Wheat."

#vegan #veganisnotscary #clifbar #mondelez #energybar #highinfibre #highinprotein #highiniron #highinphosphorus #highinmagnesium #certifiedorganic #organic #nongmo #renewableenergy #boughtitforthereview #plantbasedenergy I bought this box of 12 Clif Bars (Chocolate Brownie flavour) at the Mondelez (Peek Freans) Cookie Outlet Store last summer. While the outlet store was a bit of a disappointment because of its small size, it did offer good deals. One of the deals was this box which was only about $20. If I’m not mistaken, these bars individually sell for about $3. I’m not really into energy bars as I think they’re just chocolate / snack bars in disguise. So I bought this box more out of curiosity and partially because I wanted to do another review. When sugar is the first ingredient, I’m a little sceptical about the product’s nutritional value. But I must admit that its fibre, protein and iron content are impressive. As for taste, I think they’re quite good. I like the specs of soy rice crisps which give it a bit of a crunch. Of course, I cannot resist the chocolate brownie flavour. I’m also a sucker for a good environmental story. The company mentions in the last photo about its renewable energy initiative. It resonated with me, enticing me to buy this product. I’m not sure I would buy these energy bars again as I’m not really into them. If I return to this outlet store, I would probably be inclined as long as the price was right. Otherwise I wouldn’t.
