Soy curls are a versatile meat alternative made from 100% soybeans. They have a texture similar to meat and are perfect for salads, tacos, stir-fries, and other dishes. Soy curls are high in protein and can be seasoned and marinated easily. They are a popular choice for those who want to reduce their meat consumption or follow a vegan lifestyle.

I finally found soy curls! Many of the recipes in the newest Edgy Veg and my Vegan Richa Instant Pot cookbooks call for soy curls and I was having a hard time finding them locally in #ottawa. I found them at Natural Food Pantry and tried them out in a few pasta and Indian dishes. One bag goes a long way. The texture was not my omni partner’s favourite but I thought it was fine for replacing chicken and adding some protein. I would buy again, though it might not be an everyday staple in my diet.

After 5 years of veganism, this is my first time cooking with soy curls! I've always enjoyed the texture, and they're an amazing clean slate for seasoning. For this bag, I prepared some protein that would be good with hummus and Trader Joe's tzatziki. I rehydrated the soy curls in warm water with some bullion. Then I sauteed them with some 365 Whole Foods Market Worcestershire sauce for a meaty flavor. Then I seasoned it with some New York Shuk sumac, sesame seeds, and oregano for a simple za'atar. These were so easy to use. I'd love to keep some on hand for an easy protein that can take up any seasoning! I know they'd be great in a stir fry or with some BBQ sauce on a sandwich. #protein #soy #soycurls #vpantry #veganmeat #vegancooking #veganrecipes

butler soy curls… my love, my life! i was late to the game with these guys, but they are amazing! i soak them in warm water for about 7 minutes tops and throw them in the air fryer with whatever seasonings i desire. my favorite way to prepare them is with some bbq sauce for a bbq soy curl sandwich. next up on the list is pulled pork… the texture of these is very meaty and i like how versatile they are for different meat-like preparations. i cannot wait to find more uses for these guys and i cannot recommend them more to any vegan meat enjoyer! #soycurls #soy #soylover #veganisnotscary #veganmeat

I used to love soy curls so much but now that they are more commonly available from non-vegan places I am finding them ill prepared in the same way people who don’t eat tofu regularly don’t understand how to cook or season it. I recently had a burrito from Tacofino that featured completely unseasoned crunchy curls in it. I regretted straying from my usual. The price is also insane now. Once a bag was 3.99-4.99 and now they go for $10 plus some places. Personally I love tofu so much that I’m just continuing to enjoy that and not buying these so much anymore. Which is too bad because I a giant plastic shaker of soycurl seasoning. #soycurls #proteins #soyfoods
