First time trying a precision #fermentation product (nothing against it, I just prefer plant options, like soy.) This tiny carton also has a lot more sugar than I normally go for… but as it was just $0.99, I put aside my misgivings and gave it a sip. #groceryoutletfinds As they say, “don’t knock it ‘til you try it!” #ditchdairy #cowmilkisforcalves Well, now I can knock it. To be fair, it has a couple things going for it: 10g of #protein, a bunch of vitamin B12 (and some vitamin D and calcium, to boot!,) and that darned cute packaging. Unfortunately, it was too sweet for me, and not as creamy as I was expecting. Perhaps it’s just down to the familiar carton, but it honestly reminded me the slightest bit of coconut water. The #vanilla flavor was pretty weak, too. I stoped drinking milk long before I went vegan, and evidently I don’t miss it. I think it was worth trying once to understand the buzz around animal-free #nondairywhey, but I’ll be sticking with my good old low tech mylks. Maybe a good transition product for those budding pre-vegans?
This #vegan, #dairyfree #milk is unique because of its non-animal milk protein from microflora, produced in a lab. I bought a few mini flavors to try because I love the concept but would not recommend any of them. The milk was super watery and when it did have any flavor to it, it was very artificial tasting.
This flavor has the perfect hint of vanilla and it tastes great on its own or perfect to add to a milkshake. I combined this milk and Brave Robot vanilla ice cream to make a milkshake and it did not disappoint 🤤 It's not too sweet and has 10 grams of complete protein. This is supposed to be the animal-free real milk, with whey protein. It just doesn't do it for me, it isn't going to convert any non-vegans in my opinion. It's not very creamy, idk, it's just not "milk." My son is obsessed with it though, so it's not "bad." 🤷♀️ The vanilla is his favorite.
