I saw this in the summer and thought it'd be a great addition to my seasonings collection. I love BBQ flavor so I thought I'd use it a lot. Turns out I prefer BBQ sauce to this seasoning. It just felt like something was missing. It was sweet, as expected, but there weren't enough of the other flavors to balance that out. It should be smokier. Maybe if you cook whatever you season on a grill, it would balance out a bit better. I used it on some tofu steaks and served it with noochy rice and lemon garlic broccoli. TJ’s is constantly winning with their spice blends. I missed this one last year so happy I remembered to grab it on my last visit. This is a sweet one, with brown sugar as the main ingredient. A nice rub or addition for a sweet and summery BBQ flavor!
I used this tj’s BBQ seasoning on beyond burgers and it tasted very good. Brown sugar is the first ingredient so I wouldn’t call it nutritious but in the amount I used I don’t think it’s too bad.
This is a super cool veganized barbecue seasoning. Great for tofu or veggie marinades, or for whatever floats your boat. You gotta try it!
The seasoning will add something special to any dish.
